Last week, the BCC aired a documentary where one of the Top Gear presenters, Richard Hammond, descends into Nyiragongo volcano crater in a story that tries to answer the question, “How does the Earth work?” Check it out HERE.
BBC’s description of the program:
“Using a giant 3D virtual Earth, Richard peels back the layers and shows where volcanoes come from, why earthquakes happen and even where to find diamonds. Using stunning CGI, the latest satellite imagery and beautiful locations around the world, the story of how the Earth works has never been seen like this before.”
Another video on BBC News shows a scientist going right up to the lava lake edge to collect a sample.
