This tour to climb Nyiragongo volcano start and ends in Goma, This short tour will take you to kibati where you will climb the famous active Nyiragongo volcano to see the world’s largest lava lake. The Nyiragongo is one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Recently erupted in 2002 creating a mass destruction of Goma city where the lava lakes can still be seen.
Day 1: Nyiragongo hiking
After your breakfast, you will move from the hotel, and do some shopping in the supermarket before transferring to Kibati Village where you will start your hiking experience. The Hike will take you 5 to 6 hours, with en route view of some animals and birds along the trail. Arrive late in the afternoon Admire the lava lake all evening, before retiring in the hut on the rim of the giant crater high above the active lake. The climb up to and down from Nyiragongo is strenuous and often in hot conditions, but the path is relatively easy and not excessively steep. You will get a backpack from us which includes; a lunch package, warm fleece and a sleeping bag. You will have a personal cook preparing a hot meal at the summit. You can hire a porter to carry your luggage at US$ 24 per porter to be paid on ground.

Day 2: Back from volcano and transfer to Goma
In the morning you will enjoy your breakfast with the breathtaking view overlooking the Nyiragongo crater before you descend. Around noon you will be back at base camp. After this amazing experience it is time to relax. Your driver/guide will take you to Goma the cross the border to Rwanda.
